How To Know Your IP Address

Mostly people are using the internet but only some people are know what is the IP Address, Today we will discuss "what is the IP Address" there is two type of IP Address

ISP provide the IP Address to router (Outside IP Address)

Your Router or Modem provide you the IP Address on your computer. (Inside IP Address)

If you want to check you outside ip address then go to this link whatismyip or you want you check you inside ip address then go to run and type "CMD" after open the command prompt type "ipconfig" the result show your inside IP Address.

IP Address (Internet Protocol Address)this address provide by the ISP (Internet Service Provider) on the router, when your configure the router and set the User Name and Password then automatic ISP provide you a IP Address on Router after the you will get the Internet on you computer. In computer two type of IP Configuration is there Automatic & Manual, mostly home user are using automatic IP configuration and work user are using Manual IP Configuration.

Automatic IP Configuration

Automatic Configuration is set by the router setting, open the web browser and type Router Address basically is (192.168.1.1) and type the user name (admin) password (admin) if not same then read the user guide of your router,

When router is opened go the router setting there you will find the option of DHCP Server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Off and On option. If you want automatic IP configuration on your Laptop then switch on the DHCP. After on the DHCP server go the the Network Properties and select the Properties and select Internet protocol (TCP IP) and select the Obtained an IP address automaticaly after click Ok your computer and laptop automatic take the IP from router. If you want you check you IP Addres go the Run and type "CMD" (without quote) and press enter after that type "ipconfig"(without quote) the result will show your current IP address provide by Router, Note this IP address.

Manual IP Configuration

If you want you to configure the manual IP address, then first Off the DHCP server form router and save the setting. Now go to the Network properties and put the IP address which you note before.

Example :

IP Address : 192.168.1.2 (Manual IP Address)

Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0 (Auto Generate) 

Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (Router IP Address )
